The most dramatic view of the Esplanade Apartments can be seen while traveling north along Lake Shore Drive. Their elegant skyscraper silhouettes quickly emerge into sight at an oblique angle as one passes.

Set just north of the 860–880 Lake Shore Drive apartments, these towers were built in one of the most attractive areas of Chicago along Lake Michigan. In the vicinity is the John Hancock Building, the Magnificent Mile portion of Michigan Avenue and Oak Street Beach.
